This fall, Harmels on the Taylor was honored to once again be part of the Risers 4 Rett Fall Tournament, welcoming anglers, guides, families, and supporters to Almont for a weekend that blended exceptional fly fishing with an even greater purpose.
Autumn arrived in full form, crisp mornings, warm sunshine, and golden cottonwoods lining the riverbanks. But beyond the postcard-worthy scenery, what truly defined the weekend was the shared commitment to supporting families impacted by Rett Syndrome.
The rivers throughout the Gunnison Valley were alive with activity as anglers floated, waded, and cast across some of Colorado’s most iconic waters. While the fishing delivered memorable moments, the heart of the weekend was found off the water—where stories were shared, friendships were strengthened, and a genuine sense of community took shape.
From guides and anglers to sponsors and volunteers, everyone played a role in creating an atmosphere that was welcoming, energetic, and deeply meaningful. One of the standout moments of the weekend came during the evening gathering, when Ben Tinsley shared his perspective as a Rett dad. His words brought clarity and purpose to the event, reminding everyone why these days on the river matter so much.
The weekend also featured a highly successful auction filled with premium fishing gear, unforgettable destination trips, rare spirits, and original artwork. The energy in the room was unmistakable, with every bid helping push the mission forward.
Thanks to the generosity of participants and sponsors, the 2025 Fall Tournament raised record-setting funds in support of the Rett Clinic at Children’s Hospital Colorado. These funds directly support essential resources, including the clinic’s nurse coordinator position, helping ensure families receive consistent, specialized care.
Every cast, every conversation, and every contribution throughout the weekend added up to something far bigger than a tournament—real, lasting impact for children and families living with Rett Syndrome.
We extend our sincere thanks to the guides, anglers, sponsors, donors, and volunteers who made the 2025 Risers 4 Rett Fall Tournament such a success. It is a privilege for us at Harmels on the Taylor to help host an event that combines world-class fly fishing with such an important cause.
As we look ahead, we’re already excited for what’s next. Risers 4 Rett events continue throughout the year, including the upcoming spring tournament—which fills quickly. We hope to welcome many of you back to the Gunnison Valley soon.
Until then, thank you for being part of a weekend defined by purpose, generosity, and great days on the river.
